Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2024-25)
In her third year with the Pioneers, Celsur once again helped lead the Pioneers to another historical season. During the 2024-25 season, the Pioneers claimed their third straight LSC Regular Season Title and second straight LSC Tournament Title. Throughout the season, TWU was ranked No. 1 in the nation. They claimed the No. 1 seed in the South Central Region for the second straight and hosted the South Central Regional Tournament in Denton for the second straight season. The Pioneers season came to a close in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. They ended the season with the fewest losses in program history (2), most consecutive wins in a season with 27. They broke the program record for free throw percentage in a season, shooting 78% from the charity stripe, which broke the former record of 77.6% set last season. The Pioneers also broke the record for lowest opponent field goal percentage in season, holding teams to just 34.8% throughout the season – breaking the former record of 35.3% which was set during the 2015-16 season. She finished the season with 137 total career steals, which now ranks eighth all-time. Additionally, she finished the season with 233 total career assists, which now ranks seventh all-time in program history. Celsur has 753 total career points, which ranks 25th all-time in career points. Celsur played in 33 games for the Pioneers during her junior, with an average of 23.2 minutes per game. She averaged 39.1% from the field and 29.4% from beyond the arc. She shot 77.3% from the charity stripe and averaged 6.4 points per game. She also dished out 58 assists and also grabbed 13 blocks. She scored a season high 14 points on Feb. 15 against Texas A&M - Kingsville. She also grabbed a season high eight rebounds at Cameron on Jan. 1, dished out a season high four assists against Eastern New Mexico on Jan. 25 and a season high four steals against Colorado School of Mines on Nov. 20, 2024. She was also named to the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. In May 2025, Celsur graduated with her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2023-24)

In her second year with the Pioneers, Celsur helped guide the Pioneers to a historic, record-breaking season. During the 2023-24 season, the Pioneers claimed the LSC Regular Season Title and East Division Title for the second consecutive year. Then, they won the LSC Tournament Title for the second time in program history and first time since 2011. TWU finished with their highest regional ranking, one, and hosted the South Central Regional Tournament for the first time in program history, claiming the 2024 South Central Regional Tournament Title for the first time in program history. After TWU advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history, they made more history by closing the season as the 2024 National Runner-Up. During the season, TWU set numerous records: most wins (34), fewest losses (5), most points in a season (2,826), most assists (603), most field goals made (978), most field goals attempted (2,141), most free throws made (666), and most free throws attempted (858). They closed the season with their highest national ranking in program history at No. 2. Celsur received All-LSC Honorable Mention honors, LSC All-Tournament Team honors and South Central Regional All-Tournament Team honors. Celsur started in all 39 of the Pioneers’ games, averaging 28.5 minutes per game. She scored a career high 380 points over the season, averaging 9.7 points per game. She also set career high marks in steals (74), blocks (17), assists (117), rebounds (169) and free throw percentage (83.8). She shot 40.1% from the field and 32.7% from beyond the arc. She scored a career high 20 points on March 29 against Minnesota State. She matched her career high of 10 rebounds on Feb. 24 against UTPB. She dished out a career high 10 assists on Feb. 15 against TAMIU.

AS A FRESHMAN (2022-23)

Celsur appeared in 27 games and 610 minutes for the Pioneers, where she helped lead the team to a LSC Regular Season Championship title and East Division Title after hitting the game-winning, buzzer-beating three over UT Tyler on Feb. 23 to claim the LSC Regular Season Title. Celsur helped guide the team to the highest national ranking in program history and highest South Central Regional Championships seed (two), and helped set the record for most wins (26), fewest losses (six), most consecutive wins (21) and the best start in program history (14-1). The Martin Mills native also helped lead the Pioneers to their first back-to-back regional appearances and set a new LSC Championships record with highest three point percentage in a game shooting 72.2% from the three in their semifinal win over Lubbock Christian. She recorded her first career double-double on Nov. 26 against Henderson State with 10 points and 10 rebounds and a career high 19 points versus Texas A&M International. Celsur finished with 145 points and 80 rebounds on the year. She was awarded Oakley’s Newcomer of the Year and listed on the LSC All-Freshman Team.

PRIOR TO TWU
Jada Celsur played point guard and shooting guard for Martins Mill High School. A multi-sport athlete, she lettered in basketball and tennis. In basketball, she earned All-State honors for three years, four-time All-Region selection, MVP of the state tournament, named to the All-Tournament Team at the state championship two times, Offensive Player of the Year, and was named MVP of the District. Celsur graduated third in her class. She also participated in FCA, Robotics and National Honors Society. She also played basketball for Texas Platinum.
