Biography
AS A JUNIOR (2021-22)
Obineke saw action in 13 games for the Pioneers. She played a season-high 20 minutes and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds in the Pioneers regional tournament game against West Texas A&M on March 12, 2022 She scored a season-high 10 points in eight minutes in the Pioneers win at UAFS on Dec. 2, 2021.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2020-21)
Obineke opted out of the 2020-21 campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
AS A FRESHMAN (2019-20)
Obineke saw action in 24 games, drawing the start in 12. She averaged 6.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She hit double figures in points on eight occasions, with season-highs in points and rebounds in a 22-point, 10-board performance against Cameron. She also grabbed 10 boards against Texas A&M International in the season finale. Obineke connected on 57 of 129 field-goal attempts for a .442 shooting percentage. She shot 65.7 percent from the charity stripe. She also recorded three blocks against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
PRIOR TO TWU
A two-year letterwinner in track in addition to earning four varsity letters in basketball at Rowlett High School, Obineke was an all-state, all-region, selection in addition to being named District MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and first-team all-district. She played on a district co-championship squad. Her brother, Ugo, plays basketball at Kennesaw State.
