AS A FRESHMAN (2024)

In her first year with the Pioneers, Gilmore competed in the bars lineup in nine meets. She recorded a career high 9.825 on March 17 at home against Centenary. At the 2024 MIC Championships, she scored a 9.750 on bars, which earned her Second Team All-MIC honors. She was named an MIC Scholar Athlete and a USAG Scholar Athlete. Gilmore helped guide the Pioneers to a record setting year, as TWU scored their highest score in a season opener, highest score in a home opener, scored their second highest score in program history (March 3), set a new floor record (Feb. 3), set a new home crowd record (March 3) and recorded their highest NQS in program history. The Pioneers closed the season with a second place finish at the 2024 MIC Championship and the 2024 USA Gymnastics National Championships.

PRIOR TO TWU

Aaliyah Gilmore, from Severn, Maryland, competed in gymnastics for 12 years and also played softball for seven years. In 2022, Gilmore was a National Bar Silver Medalist. She competed with Win Win Gymnastics, where she currently helps train lower level gymnasts. Gilmore has also been honored for her academics – a two-time President's Honor Roll recipient and a member of the 2022 National African American Recognition Program. Gilmore attended Old Mill High School. Gilmore will be majoring in Kinesiology at TWU.
