AS A FRESHMAN (2025)
Upton, in her first season with the Pioneers, helped guide TWU to their 13th National Title, as the Pioneers claimed the 2025 WCGNIC National Championship. The Pioneers also broke the record for highest team score with a 196.600 in Kitty Magee Arena on March 9 against NC State. Additionally, the Pioneers set a record for highest score in a season opener, scoring a 194.000 to open the season at home against Centenary. Upton was a mainstay as lead-off on vault, beam and floor for the Pioneers in her first season, competing in vault 13 times and floor and beam 14 times. She was named the MIC Newcomer of the Week four times throughout the season. Then, at the close of the regular season, she was named the MIC Newcomer of the Year -- the seventh Pioneer to earn the honor. Upton helped lead the Pioneers to a second place finish at the MIC Championships. She placed fourth on vault to earn All-MIC Second Team honors, sixth on beam to also earn All-MIC Second Team honors and sixth on floor to earn All-MIC Second Team honors. During the WCGNIC Semifinals, Upton placed among the top athletes on beam and floor to advance to the event finals and earn WCGNIC First Team All-America honors on both events. At the event finals on floor, she scored a career high. She was selected by her team as the 2025 TWU Most Valuable Gymnast. She also received the 2025 Dianne Baker Award for intensity. Upton was named a 2025 MIC Scholar-Athlete, a 2025 WCGNIC Scholar-Athlete, and she was named to the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
