AS A SOPHOMORE (2025)
Bowns, in her second season with the Pioneers, helped guide TWU to their 13th National Title, as the Pioneers claimed the 2025 WCGNIC National Championship. The Pioneers also broke the record for highest team score with a 196.600 in Kitty Magee Arena on March 9 against NC State. Additionally, the Pioneers set a record for highest score in a season opener, scoring a 194.000 to open the season at home against Centenary. Throughout her second season with TWU, Bowns competed on bars in eight meets and beam in three meets. She set a career high mark twice on the uneven bars this season of a 9.900, once on March 9 against NC State and the second in the WCGNIC Finals on April 12. Bowns was named a WCGNIC First Team All-American on bars and advanced to compete in her first event finals on April 13, where she scored a 9.6370. For her performance on bars on March 9, Bowns was awarded the MIC Performance of the Week honor. Bowns was named a 2025 MIC Scholar-Athlete and a 2025 WCGNIC Scholar-Athlete. Additionally, she was named to the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.Â
AS A FRESHMAN (2024)
In her first year with the Pioneers, Bowns competed in every meet on bars for TWU. She also competed two meets on beam and three meets on vault. She scored her career high of a 9.775 on vault on Jan. 21 at Centenary. On bars, she hit her career high twice -- on March 17 at home against Centenary and on the road on Feb. 23 at Utah State. She scored her career high on beam in her first appearance, scoring a 9.650 on Jan. 21 at Centenary. She was named a USAG Scholar Athlete and a MIC Scholar Athlete. Bowns helped guide the Pioneers to a record setting year, as TWU scored their highest score in a season opener, highest score in a home opener, scored their second highest score in program history (March 3), set a new floor record (Feb. 3), set a new home crowd record (March 3) and recorded their highest NQS in program history. The Pioneers closed the season with a second place finish at the 2024 MIC Championship and the 2024 USA Gymnastics National Championships.
PRIOR TO TWU
From New Hill, North Carolina, Caroline Bowns has competed in gymnastics for 13 years. A gymnast with Bull City Gymnastics, Bowns was a three-time regional qualifier. In 2019, she was named a regional champion and a top 100 level nine gymnast. She won the vault title at the KPAC Cup in 2022. Additionally, in 2022, she helped lead her Bull City Gymnastics team to the NC State Championship Title. Bowns was also a member of the National Honor Society and Girl Scouts. She will be majoring in Political Science, Pre-Law at TWU.Â
