Courtney McCool Griffeth

Courtney McCool Griffeth, a former US Olympian, is entering her second season as a Coach’s Assistant for Texas Woman's University Gymnastics.

In 2017 McCool Griffeth helped lead the Pioneers to victory at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship. She also coached 7 gymnast to 12 USAG All-American Awards. McCool Griffeth was an intricate part of leading Schyler Jones to the NCAA Regional Competition as well as two alternates. The Pioneers finished second at the MIC Championship with guidance McCool Griffeth.  
 
McCool Griffeth came to TWU from Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy, a club gymnastics facility owned by two-time U.S. Olympic head coach Mary Lee Tracy. She was an assistant elite coach and worked with J.O. level 10/pre-elite athletes on all four apparatus.  Prior to Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy, McCool Griffeth worked at numerous camps and clinics primarily as a choreographer for floor and beam routines.
 
McCool Griffeth was the member of the 2004 Olympic Gymnastics Team that captured the silver medal in Athens, Greece.  She placed second in the all-around at the 2004 Olympic Trials, first in the all-around at the 2004 Olympic Test Event and fourth in the all-around at the 2004 US National Championships.
 
McCool Griffeth was the member of the University of Georgia Gymnastics Team from 2007-10 and helped the Gym Dogs to three NCA National Championships.  She was a three-time first team All-American and won the 2008 NCAA Individual National Championship on floor. McCool Griffeth also won the 2010 SEC Individual title on floor.
 
The start of McCool Griffeth’s many accolades begins with her win in the Level 10 All-Around at the 2001 J.O. Nationals.
 
McCool Griffeth earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Child and Family Development in 2011, and her Master of Science Degree in Sport Management and Policy in 2012 from the University of Georgia. She is married to TWU Gymnastics Assistant Coach Garrett Griffeth.
