AS A SOPHOMORE (2025)

Murphy, in her first season with the Pioneers, helped guide TWU to their 13th National Title, as the Pioneers claimed the 2025 WCGNIC National Championship. The Pioneers also broke the record for highest team score with a 196.600 in Kitty Magee Arena on March 9 against NC State. Additionally, the Pioneers set a record for highest score in a season opener, scoring a 194.000 to open the season at home against Centenary. During the season, Murphy competed on vault in three meets with her season high coming at the Metroplex Challenge on Feb. 14 of a 9.750. She was named a 2025 MIC Scholar-Athlete, a 2025 WCGNIC Scholar-Athlete, and she was named to the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

PRIOR TO TWU

Maddy Murphy competed for one season collegiately at the University of Alaska Anchorage and will join the Pioneers to compete in the upcoming 2025 season. While competing at UAA, Murphy competed on vault and floor for the Seawolves. She scored a career high 9.85 at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championships on vault on March 23. Additionally, she closed her freshman season with the fifth-best vault national qualifying score (NQS) in program history, a 9.785, and earned All-MPSF Second Team honors. On floor, she scored a career high 9.800 on Feb. 25, while competing at Northern Illinois. Murphy, from Liberty Lake, Washington, was a two-year Level 10 competitor with Dynamic Gymnastics Academy. At the 2023 Junior Olympics (JO) Region 2 Championships, she placed fourth in all-around in the Division and claimed the Region 2 Vault Title. Throughout her 2022 and 2023 competitive seasons, Murphy claimed six gold medals and four podium finishes on vault. Furthermore, in  2023, Murphy qualified for the 2023 Women's Development Program L10 National Meet. Murphy is also committed to success in academics. During high school, she was a member of the National Honor Society at Ridgeline High School. She also earned Dean's List honors during her freshman year at UAA.
