AS A SOPHOMORE (2025)

In her second season with the Pioneers, Steffan and TWU celebrated their 13th National Title, as the Pioneers claimed the 2025 WCGNIC National Championship. The Pioneers also broke the record for highest team score with a 196.600 in Kitty Magee Arena on March 9 against NC State. Additionally, the Pioneers set a record for highest score in a season opener, scoring a 194.000 to open the season at home against Centenary. Steffan was named a 2025 MIC Scholar-Athlete and 2025 WCGNIC Scholar-Athlete, and she was also named to the Spring 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

Steffan did not compete her sophomore season. 

AS A FRESHMAN (2024)

In her first year with the Pioneers, Steffan competed on floor in five meets, scoring a career high 9.775 at Oklahoma Quad Meet on Feb. 9. She also competed at Oklahoma on bars. She was named a USAG Scholar Athlete and MIC Scholar Athlete. Steffan helped guide the Pioneers to a record setting year, as TWU scored their highest score in a season opener, highest score in a home opener, scored their second highest score in program history (March 3), set a new floor record (Feb. 3), set a new home crowd record (March 3) and recorded their highest NQS in program history. The Pioneers closed the season with a second place finish at the 2024 MIC Championship and the 2024 USA Gymnastics National Championships.

PRIOR TO TWU

Sofia Steffan, a multi-sport athlete, has competed in gymnastics for 14 years, played soccer for four years and ice skated for two years. From Palatine, Illinois, Steffan competed with Legacy Elite Gymnastics for six years and Palatine Gymnastics Club for four years. She is a four-time State and Regional Qualifier. In 2019, she was the Illinois State Bar Champion. Most recently, in 2022, she helped led her team to the 2022 State Championship title. Steffan has also been honored for academic excellence. Steffan will be majoring in Biology at TWU.
