Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2023)
Valdez started in 18 games this year for the Pioneers and recorded a goal vs East Central on Sept. 5. The junior defender finished the season with 13 shots and one shot on goal. She helped lead TWU to a historic 2023 season where they had the best start in program history (5-0), placed fourth in the Lone Star Conference, and reached the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship for the first time since 2019.

Valdez received the Defensive Player of the Week award once this season and was named to the LSC All-Conference Second Team. She was also named to the Fall 2023 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2022)
Valdez started in all 17 games for the Pioneers and recorded 10 shots with two on goal. The Dallas native had the second most played minutes on the team with 1,456 minutes. Valdez earned All-LSC Third Team honors for the second straight year. She also was listed on the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll as well as the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award. 

AS A FRESHMAN (2021)
Valdez started all 19 games for the Pioneers in her freshman season. As a defender, she recorded one assist in the Pioneers 4-0 win over Oklahoma Christian on Sept. 29, 2021. Recorded a career high three shots in the Pioneers 1-0 win over Regis on Sept. 10, 2021, and she closed the season with 10 shots. She also registered five shots on goals on the season. She finished the season with 1654 minutes played. Following the conclusion of the season, she earned Third Team All-LSC honors and was named to the LSC All-Freshman Team. She was also named to the 2021 LSC All-Tournament team. Valdez was named to the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

PRIOR TO TWU
Valdez earned four letters each in soccer and cross country and one letter in track.
