The 2010 season is Jesse Llamas’ second season as a goalkeeper coach with the TWU soccer team. Additionally, he servers as the goalkeeper coach for Solar and is involved with youth soccer clubs including Longhorns, ASG, and FC Dallas. Llamas currently is the director of coaching at Dallas International School, overlooking several teams. He also coaches at the Sidekicks camps and Smudgers camps and assists Nick Stavrou with 95 Boys and 99 Girls teams. Llamas obtained his “B” coaching license in 2003.
Llamas played professional soccer for 10 years including three years with Dallas Sidekicks. He started his career with Tecolotitos 3rd division in Mexico in 1995 and then played with 2nd division Tecoman of Mexico from 1996 to 1997. Llamas was the member of 1A Jaguares de Colima from 1997-2000 before playing for El Paso Patriots (USL A-League) from 2000-02. He was then drafted by Dallas and played for the Sidekicks from 2002-04. Llamas was named the 2003 MISL Rookie Goalkeeper. He was also the member of the 2006 Dallas Roma F.C. team that recorded the biggest upset in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup history when they became the first amateur team to beat a MLS team. Llamas made two penalty kick saves for the victory.
