Megan Matteck

Megan Matteck (formerly Bibilone) began coaching for the Pioneers in August of 2013 following two seasons as the graduate assistant coach. Matteck assists in every area of the soccer program including: coaching, recruiting, organizing practice sessions, overseeing study hall, and maintaining the social media accounts for TWU Soccer (@TWU_soccer).
 
 Throughout Matteck’s tenure, the Pioneers have been recognized 29 times with All-Lone Star Conference honors alongside the program receiving LSC Newcomer of the Year in 2014 and Goalkeeper of the Year in 2016. Ten Pioneers have earned LSC All-Academic Team distinctions, highlighted by the LSC Academic Player of the Year in 2015. Five Pioneers have been selected to All-Region teams, including a First Team honor in 2016.

In 2017, TWU earned its first national ranking in program history where the Pioneers debuted at No. 25 before moving up to No. 15. The squad set a program record during the 2015 season for wins in a season with 11 and established the highest winning percentage (.600) since it’s debut in 2002. In 2014, the Pioneers recorded the best start to a season in program history with a 6-1-0 record and set a new benchmark for consecutive wins with six.

The Pioneers have also been successful in the classroom by producing an average GPA of 3.298 throughout Matteck’s 10 semesters. During the Fall 2013 semester, the squad posted its highest-ever GPA of 3.586 that included a record-setting 10 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0. In addition, the Pioneers have been recognized on the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll over 140 times since the 2011 season.

Matteck previously coached the 00-Matteck team and the D’Feeters Soccer Club in Farmers Branch. Her camp résumé includes the PSPL Winter ID Camp, Exact Winter Soccer Camp, SMU Girls Soccer Camp, TCU Girls Summer College ID Soccer Camp, TWU Elite Soccer Camp, and Midwestern State Summer Kid Camp. In 2013, Matteck earned her USSF “C” coaching license and in December 2014, Matteck became a NCAA Women Coaches Academy graduate.
 
A four-year letterwinner at Midwestern State University, Matteck graduated in 2009 with bachelor’s degree in Biology. She earned her master's degree in Kinesiology from TWU in May 2017.

Matteck, a four-year starter for the Mustangs, scored 18 goals while assisting on five for 41 points throughout her career and recorded nine game-winning goals. She was named the 2005 Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year while receiving Second Team All-LSC honors after leading the team with 14 points. In 2006, she earned First Team All-LSC as well as LSC All-Academic honors and was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2007 and 2008.
 
Matteck and her husband, Oliver, live in Northlake with their daughter Evie.
