Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2024)
Thaxton started all 19 games for the Pioneers in 2024, logging over 1,400 minutes on the field. She recorded one assist and five shots with two on goal. She helped TWU advance to their first Lone Star Conference Tournament semifinal since 2019 after defeating SEU in round one to advance to the semifinals.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2023)
Thaxton appeared in four games this year for the Pioneers. The sophomore defender helped lead TWU to a historic 2023 season where they had the best start in program history (5-0), placed fourth in the Lone Star Conference, and reached the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship for the first time since 2019.

AS A FRESHMAN (2022)
Thaxton started eight out of 15 matches and tallied a total of 771 minutes of play. The sophomore defender recorded three shots in her freshman campaign with two coming in the last two games of the season against Midwestern St. and St. Edward’s. 

PRIOR TO TWU
Mia Thaxton played with fellow 2022 signee Madison Blue at V.R. Eaton High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Thaxton, a holding midfielder and outside defender, lettered all four years at V.R. Eaton. During her high school career, she earned All-District accolades, Academic All-District, DFW Player of the Week honors and Goals of the Week awards. In 2021, she helped lead her team to a Regional Finalist finish and appearance in the state playoffs. Thaxton also played club soccer for DKSC 04 Voutier.
