2008: Played in 22 matches while making four starts in her first year at TWU...finished second on the team in assists with 156...also added 14 kills, seven service aces and 63 digs...had a season-high 20 assists in a three-game loss at Alaska Anchorage...posted 10 or more assists in five matches.
Prior to TWU: Played the first two seasons of her collegiate career across town at the University of North Texas…started all 33 of the Mean Green’s matches in 2007 and led the team with 1,338 set assists and 10.97 assists per game…also recorded 219 digs (the third most on the team), 49 kills, and 52 total blocks…as a freshman in 2006, Maddox led the UNT squad with 11.57 assists per game…her 590 total assists were the most by a UNT freshman since Kim Brunette in 1996…at the Sam Houston State Tournament September 1-2, 2006, Maddox dished out 191 assists, the most in a four-match span by a North Texas player since 2003…her 62 assists in a four-game win over Western Illinois on September 16, 2006, were a season high for UNT in 2006.
High School: Was a volleyball standout at Boerne (Texas) High School… picked for the All-District 28-4A first team as both a junior and senior…also garnered first-team All-State, All-City, and All-Region accolades following her 2004 junior campaign…played club volleyball for the Alamo Volleyball Club and the Centex Volleyball Association.
Personal: Heather Nicole was born on February 5, 1988, and is the daughter of Scott and Jolane Maddox…a nutrition and food sciences major…active at The Village Church in Highland Village, Texas…when not busy with volleyball, she enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling.
