Aubrey Ezell joined the Texas Woman's volleyball program in Spring 2023 for her first year as a Graduate Assistant. A Texas native, Aubrey brings an extensive list of accolades as a player as well as experience in the coaching world.
In 2019, Aubrey graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Public Health and a minor in both Business Administration and Psychology. Ezell was a member of both the indoor and the beach volleyball programs for four years. With the indoor team, Aubrey shined in her role as starting setter, finishing with one of the best seasons by a true freshman in program history. During her freshman year, Aubrey received multiple awards including SEC Setter of the Week and SEC All-Freshman Team. She also lead the entire SEC in total aces. Ezell ended her illustrious career with one of the best all-around seasons ever as a Gamecock libero, leading the SEC and ranked second nationally with 0.67 aces/set.
After graduation, Ezell took her volleyball knowledge overseas and competed in Slovenia, Austria, and Switzerland. When she returned to the United States, Ezell decided to invest in her coaching career, joining Texas Image Volleyball Club as an Assistant Coach for both the 16s and 18s teams. Ezell helped both her teams qualify for Nationals, as she was mostly responsible for setting and the defensive systems.
At TWU, Ezell will bring her knowledge and experience to the gym and will make an impact right away. On the court, she will assist with setting training as well as defense and serve receive. Off the court, Ezell will oversee academics and help with administrative tasks.
Aubrey is pursuing a Master's Degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Coaching and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2025. She is currently engaged to Hank Nichols and has two adorable German Shepherds.
