Texas Woman's University Athletics today announced the hiring of
Dave Ulrich as an assistant volleyball coach.
Ulrich, a graduate of Lincoln Christian University, joins the Pioneers after serving as the head volleyball coach at King University, an NCAA Division II institution in Bristol, Tenn., for each of the last two seasons.
"Coach Ulrich is a great addition for our program," TWU head coach
Jeff Huebner said. "He has proven himself to be a successful program developer at each level that he has coached at, both as an assistant and head coach."
Last season, Ulrich guided the Tornado to an 18-11 overall record for a third-place finish in the North Division of the Conference Carolinas.
"I would like to thank coach
Jeff Huebner, director of athletics
Chalese Connors, and the rest of the staff at Texas Woman's University for allowing me the opportunity to join the volleyball staff," Ulrich said. "In the opportunities I have had to work alongside Jeff in camps, clinics and other volleyball settings, we have always challenged and balanced each other to become better and sharper at our craft."
Prior to joining King, Ulrich spent two years as the head coach at Randall University where he turned the program around, tripling its win total in his first season before ending his tenure with a 26-13 record.
"For our program, his expertise as a recruiter and as a volleyball problem solver is going to be a game changer for the improvement of our team," Huebner said. "I couldn't be more excited to add him to our staff."
Ulrich is married to fellow TWU assistant volleyball coach
Laura Ulrich, née Farney.
"To join this staff and help build into the already successful Pioneer volleyball program will be an amazing opportunity," Dave Ulrich added. "I can't wait to get started."
