Laura Ulrich

Farney comes to TWU as an Assistant Coach from the University of Montevallo (Alabama) where she held the same position. In her three seasons with the Falcons, Farney helped guide the squad to a pair of 20-win seasons including a 21-12 overall record and a 11-7 mark in conference play in 2014. The Falcons were ranked in the top 10 of the region during each year under Farney.
 
Before Montevallo, Farney spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. Farney helped guide the Golden Suns to a 52-22 overall record during those two years. Arkansas Tech also claimed the Great American Conference championship earning a berth in the 2013 NCAA Division II and a runner-up finish in the Great American Conference in 2012.
 
Farney also served as a club coach with the Golden Suns Volleyball Club for three years in Russellville.
 
A four-year member of the volleyball program at Arkansas Tech from 2008-2011, Farney became the fourth player in program history to record 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. During the collegiate career, the Golden Suns compiled a 121-27 overall record during while also claiming three conference tournament championships and a bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
 
Farney received several honors as a student-athlete, including a selection as a nominee for the 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year and a American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division II All-American honorable mention selection following her senior season.
 
Farney received a Bachelor of Arts and Humanities in Sociology from Arkansas Tech in May 2012 and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Arkansas Tech in May 2014.
