Biography

AS A SOPHOMORE (2024)
In her first season with the Pioneers, Blackwood helped lead TWU to a historic season. The Pioneers returned to the LSC Tournament for the second straight season. Then, they were selected as the sixth seed in the 2024 NCAA South Central Regional Tournament, returning to the regional for the first time since 2015. Over the course of the season, the Pioneers posted their longest win streak, 11, since 2003. They also defeated No. 22 DBU on Nov. 6, marking their first win over a ranked team since 2017. Blackwood appeared in five sets during the season, recording one block, one dig and one attack. She was named to the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

PRIOR TO TWU

Blackwood, a middle blocker, played her freshman season at the University of North Dakota. At UND, she played in four matches and 11 sets. She finished the season with 10 kills and two blocks, before her season came to an end due to injury. Prior to attending UND, Blackwood played high school volleyball at Wylie High School in Wylie, Texas. She earned All-District honors all four years at Wylie. During her senior season, she was named Co-MVP for the district, while serving as the team captain. As the captain, she helped lead her team to a top eight finish in the state of Texas. She led the state in kills during the 2022 season with 222 and hit .416. While at Wylie, Blackwood also led the team to exciting heights, including the titles of District Champions, Bi-District Champions, Area Champions, Regional Quarterfinal Champions, Regional Semifinal Champions and Regional Finals Finalist. They went to the playoffs all four years of Blackwood's career. Blackwood played club volleyball most recently with Madfrog Volleyball. A multi-sport athlete, Blackwood also played soccer for 11 years. Committed to excellence in the classroom, Blackwood earned Academic All-District honors during two seasons. Additionally, she was a member of the National Honors Society, the National Technical Honor Society and HOSA – Future Health Professionals. Blackwood also enjoys serving her community. She volunteered with TEARS, Together we Educate About the Realities of Suicide. She also served on the Student-Athletes for Inclusion and Diversity (SAID) and the Student-Athlete Leadership Committee (SALC) during her time at the University of North Dakota.
