AS A FRESHMAN (2024)
Acevedo-Hernandez competed in the 130 weight class in TWU Wrestling's second season in program history, where the Pioneers sent three athletes to the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The freshman won her opening match in the first open tournaments at the Simon Fraser and Maverick Open against Arizona State on Saturday, Nov. 4. 

PRIOR TO TWU
Valeria Acevedo-Hernandez joins the team from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The freshman will compete in the 123 weight class. As a junior, in her first year of wrestling for her high school, Birdville High School, she finished ninth in the state. Acevedo-Hernandez hopes to continue her wrestling career representing Puerto Rico.
