Rashonda Cannie had perhaps the best meet of her outstanding freshman season on Friday, Feb. 27, versus N.C. State, Centenary, and Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Harker Heights, Texas product hit on all four events to set a new TWU school record of 38.975 in the all-around. She placed second in the all-around competition for the meet, finishing just behind N.C. State junior Taylor Seaman. A big part of Cannie’s record all-around score was her season-high tying 9.750 on beam. Cannie was picked as the Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) Gymnast of the Week for her efforts.
