Natalia Diaz.
Both teams got off a pair of shots in the final eight minutes of the regulation but could not capitalize. In the two overtime periods, the Pioneers had a 4-1 advantage in the shots but could not find the net.
"Midwestern State is a very good team and I am happy with the tie," said TWU head coach
Babak Abouzar. "We had our chances but I have to give credit to their goalie for making good saves. We played okay in the first half. We made some adjustments at the break and played much better in the second."
TWU will now travel to San Angelo, TX, to play #10 Angelo State on Sunday, Oct. 5. The game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at ASU Soccer Complex.
