Assistant AD Bowerman resigns to make a career change

DENTON, Texas (May 21) – Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Operations Jeff Bowerman has resigned, effective May 29, to pursue a new career opportunity and to have more time for his growing family.

Bowerman joined TWU in October 2006 as the sports information director.  In January 2009, he transitioned to the assistant AD role where he has been responsible for the operations and home event management for the Pioneers' five varsity women's sports in addition to coordinating the use of Kitty Magee Arena, Pioneer Field, and the TWU Soccer Field.  He has also managed the corporate sponsorship program along with designing and executing the department's marketing and promotions plans.

"Without a doubt, Jeff has contributed immensely to TWU Athletics, and we are grateful for his passion and work ethic in elevating our programs," said TWU Director of Athletics Chalese Connors.  "He has set a standard of excellence in our game-day atmosphere.  By establishing and strengthening relationships across campus with other departments and with student organizations, we have seen attendance increases and more involvement with Athletics.  He has cultivated an exciting game-day experience for the fans and the student-athletes.  We will truly miss him and wish him all the best!"

Prior to TWU, Bowerman spent five years with the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) where he served as the team's vice president of communications.

Beginning June 15, Bowerman will be the director of business development for Groggy Dog Sportswear, a Denton-based screen printing and embroidery company.  In his new role, Bowerman will be in charge of Groggy Dog's sales and marketing efforts.

Bowerman and his wife, TWU Gymnastics Head Coach Lisa Bowerman, have a three-year old son, Austin, and are expecting the arrival of a daughter, Kyla, in early July.
