DENTON, Texas (Mar. 26)

TWU is now 23-11 on the season and 12-4 in the Lone Star Conference.
In game one the Pioneers scored three times in the second on a RBI single by junior
Katy Stephens and two-RBI double by freshman
Lindy Kennedy. TAMUC scored a run in the fourth to make it 3-1 but TWU made it 4-1 on a RBI single by junior
Nicole Nordie.
The Pioneers then closed out the game with five runs in the sixth inning including four unearned runs. Kennedy and Nordie each picked up a RBI while senior
Laura Mabary drove in two runs in the inning.
Junior
Tori Bice started in the circle and tossed a complete-game for her 13th win of the season. She allowed just one run while striking out seven batters. Kennedy finished the game 3-for-3 with three RBI while Nordie and Mabary had two RBI each.
In game two TWU fell behind 2-0 after the Lions scored a run in the second and a run in the third. The Pioneers cut the deficit it to one run in the bottom of the third. Senior
Tealey Farquhar's RBI-single with two outs made it 2-1. TWU evened the score at 2-2 in the fourth on a double steal attempt with runners on first and third.
The Pioneers scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth to go on top 3-2 but TAMUC tied the game in the top of the sixth with a run. The Lions scored two runs in the top of the seventh to regain the lead and held on for the win.
Junior
Morgan Harrison and Farquhar both went 2-for-3 in the game.
"Bice pitched well and Lindy did a great job in the first game," said TWU head coach
Genny Stidham. "Our lack of hitting, defense and their speed got to us in the second game. I am happy that we took three out of four but I am not happy that we didn't play close to our capability in the last game."
The Pioneers will return to action when they travel to Lawton, OK, to face Cameron on Friday, Apr. 1 in a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.
