SAN ANGELO, Texas (Oct. 27, 2017) - Texas Woman's University hung close to ninth-ranked Angelo State in a 1-0 loss Friday night at ASU Soccer Field.

Maddie Vickroy registered a game-high eight saves for the Pioneers (5-84, 2-6-3 LSC), and
Chelsea Martin tied a game-high with five shots. TWU put up 14 shots, while ASU (12-2-1, 9-1-1 LSC) had 22, the highest amount recorded against the Pioneers this season. The Pioneers outshot the Belles in corner kicks, 9-4.

Hannah Schneider nearly put TWU on the board in the second minute as her shot hit the post. Schneider and
Margaret Torres each garnered an attempt in the seventh minute, but the tries were saved by ASU's keeper.

Martin came close to scoring in the 22
nd-minute, but her shot dinged off of the goalpost. Lone Star Conference goal leader Trenadey Scott notched her 15
th goal of the season on an attempt from the left of the goal.

Lexi D'Abrosca took a shot in the 79
th minute, but it was saved and ended up being the final Pioneer attempt on the evening.

Babak Abouzar said, "We played our best game of the season today. From the start of the game we created chances which was exciting to see. We will look to continue to grow in our next game before the conference tournament."
