Genny Stidham recorded her 600
th career win in a 5-4 victory aided by a walk-off single by
Nicole Nordie in game one versus Texas-Permian Basin Friday at Pioneer Field before lightning halted game two at the top of the third with the Pioneers leading 7-0 which will continue Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Field.

Stidham's career mark now stands at 600 wins and 370 losses in her 20-year tenure as head coach, including a 125-81 record in three seasons at TWU.

The game was scoreless through three-and-a-half innings before the Pioneers came through with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth. A double by
Tori Bice down the left side placed pinch runner
Hailey Dixon on third.
Alexis Elizondo singled to left center to score both runners to put TWU up 2-0.

Abby Walker struck out the first two batters of the sixth, but the Falcons then loaded the bases with a pair of walks and a single. A TWU error allowed a run in, and a double to center field scored another three to give UTPB a 4-2 edge.
Katy Stephens answered by belting her second home run of the year to pull the Pioneers within one.
Hazel Puempel singled to center field and made it to third on a Falcon throwing error before making it home on an Elizondo single to tie the game at 4-4.

In the top of the seventh,
Morgan Harrison singled to left field and went to second on a sacrifice fly by
Tara Solomon. A wild pitch in the dirt allowed Harrison to sprint to third, and Nordie knocked a hard single up the middle to bring Harrison home for the walk-off win.

Walker (15-7) earned the win with two hits, three balls and nine strikeouts.

Game two: Will continue Saturday at 11 a.m.

Nordie led off game two and opened up the Pioneer offense with a home run to left center, and Sylestine sent a double to left center for a 2-0 TWU advantage.

The Pioneers took advantage of a UTPB error in the bottom of the second to score a run, and Nordie placed an RBI single to left field for a 4-0 Pioneer lead. A sacrifice bunt by Stephens scored Solomon, and Puempel tallied her third home run in four games for a pair of scores and a 7-0 lead.

The game was halted due to lightning and will continue in the top of the third tomorrow at 1 p.m. with the eight Pioneer seniors being honored prior to the start time of game three.Â
