CANYON, Texas (Sept. 22, 2017) - Texas Woman's University and West Texas A&M tied 1-1 following two overtime periods Friday Night on The Pitch to begin Lone Star Conference play.
 
TWU (3-2-2, 0-0-1 LSC) fired off 15 shots in the contest compared to 16 from WT (2-2-2, 0-0-1 LSC). Maddie Vickroy grabbed a season-high nine saves for the Pioneers.
 
Vickroy, Lexi D'Abrosca, Erian Brown, and Lauren Neely played all 110 minutes of the contest. D'Abrosca, Lauren Bradford, Alexis Lawrence and Haley Ward each fired off two shots, while Neely, Chelsea Martin, Margaret Torres, Priscilla Rincon and Allie Chapman registered one apiece.
 
Bradford scored her first goal of the season on an assist by Maddi Nolton in the 13^th minute for a 1-0 Pioneer lead.
 
The Lady Buffs tied the game on a goal by Mackenzie Taylor in the 42^nd minute.
 
Head Coach Babak Abouzar said, "WT is a hard place to play. Our team played with a lot of tenacity tonight. We knew we needed the group to step up and they did. Lauren scored great goal and Maddie came through with a clutch save."
 
The Pioneers head to Eastern New Mexico for a 2 p.m. contest Sunday.
