TWU returned home from a long road swing to New Mexico with a tight 58-56 loss at Eastern New Mexico but finished the trip with a 60-55 victory at Western New Mexico. Senior forward Alexis Nezianya leads the team with averages of 11.9 points and 8.9 boards to rank ninth in the Lone Star Conference in scoring and third in rebounding, as well as being tops in field goal percentage at .475 and fifth in blocks per game with 1.2. Senior forward Grace Mitchell adds 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest, junior guard Bri'anna Gray averages 8.6 points, and junior guard KJ Stastny posts 8.2 points.

The TexAnns saw their season-long five-game win streak end Tuesday night in a 68-62 loss at Texas A&M-Commerce. Makenzie Hailey, the LSC Preseason Player of the Year, puts up 14.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for TSU. McKinley Bostad and Katie Webster each average double figures with 12.3 and 11.2 points, respectively.

DENTON, Texas (Feb. 18, 2017) - Emily Spector made the most of her final game inside Kitty Magee Arena with an all-around performance that included a game-high 16 points, team-high six rebounds, career-high four steals and two blocks in Texas Woman's University's 53-48 win over Tarleton State Saturday afternoon.
Fellow senior Kenesha Saygo scored 13 points alongside fellow seniors Andrea Mapua, Deja Pointer and Ashley Bonugli. The stats for the Pioneers (16-10, 9-9 LSC) and TexAnns (12-12, 11-7 LSC) were quite similar as each squad shot 36-percent from the field and pulled down 33 rebounds. TWU forced TSU into 24 turnovers while the Pioneers committed 19.

DENTON, Texas (Feb. 16, 2017) - Texas Woman's University built up a 14-point lead in the second half against Texas A&M-Commerce and were paced by a team-high 17 points and career-highs of 15 rebounds and six blocks from Alexis Nezianya, but the Pioneers were outscored 25-4 over the final eight minutes in an 80-70 defeat Thursday night inside Kitty Magee Arena.
KJ Stastny came off of the bench to provide a career-high 14 points that included four three-pointers for the Pioneers. Each team spend a considerable amount of time at the free throw line with TWU knocking down 19-of-26 and TAMUC hitting 35-of-43, and the Lions grabbed 48 boards compared to 34 by the Pioneers.
