LAS VEGAS (Feb. 4, 2018) - Texas Woman's University dropped their last contest of the Desert Stinger Tournament in a 4-3 loss to Colorado Christian Sunday at Majestic Park.

The Cougars (4-1) were the first to pounce with a bunt single followed by an RBI double in the top of the first for a 1-0 advantage.
Hazel Puempel sent a double to left field in the bottom of the second to put the Pioneers in scoring position. A CCU fielding error pushed Puempel to third before
Sarah LaChance produced an RBI allowing Puempel to sneak in to tie the score. A single by
Erin Mosely to right center scored
Jordan Kisselburg for a 2-1 TWU (3-2) edge.

CCU started off the third with a walk and steal before a double down the left field line brought in a runner to tie the contest, and a single up the middle added another run for a 3-2 Cougar lead.

Avery Williams singled to third in the bottom of the fifth, and may her way to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Cheyenne Mahy. A Cougar throwing error advanced Williams to third before a
Lindy Kennedy sacrifice fly brought her around to knot the game at 3-3.

A CCU home run to right center handed the lead over to the Cougars in the top of the sixth at 4-3. Kisselburg notched a double to left center, and walks to LaChance and
Erin Mosely loaded the bases with one out. A fly out turned into a double play to end the scoring chance for the Pioneers in the inning.

In the bottom of the seventh, Mahy sent a single through the right side before two Pioneer batters struck out looking.
Tylia Sylestine propelled a shot to shortstop, but Mahy was caught out at second to end the game.

Mahy (1-1) suffered the loss in 4.1 innings with one earned run on four hits and three strikeouts.

The Pioneers play in the NCAA Division II College Classic hosted by St. Mary's Feb. 9-11.
