STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Jan. 10, 2019) — Texas Woman's continued its road trip on Thursday night against Tarleton State, falling to the TexAnns, 79-41.
"We did not match Tarleton's energy to start the game,"
Beth Jillson said postgame. "When we got down early, we didn't respond with a sense of poise."
Tarleton State outscored the Pioneers 26-7 in the opening quarter. TWU couldn't recover as they were held to under 30 percent shooting from the field.
Bri'Anna Gray led the way with 14 points and five rebounds while
Carissa Moody posted her seventh double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
KJ Stastny would score double-figures for the second game in a row as she poured in 10 points on 50 percent shooting from the field.
Saturday, the Pioneers will wrap up their road trip with a meeting against Texas A&M-Commerce at 2 p.m.
