DENTON (Feb. 7, 2019) — A pair of Macy Wilkerson free throws with four seconds left in the game secured a 66-65 victory for Texas Woman's over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday night.

"It's good to get a win, no matter how you get it," head coach Beth Jillson said. "Especially in this conference. I was really happy with how we executed down the stretch."

The Pioneers jumped out to a hot start early, scoring the first seven points of the game before ending the half with an 11-0 run.

"We always try to score first and win the first five minutes," Jillson said. "(I was) really happy with how we executed on the offensive end."

A 15-0 run in the fourth quarter by the Javelinas put the game in jeopardy for the Pioneers as the game turned into a seesaw battle that ended with Wilkerson scoring the final four points for the Pioneers, including a go-ahead basket with 21 seconds left.

Four Pioneers scored double figures with London Archer and Carissa Moody leading the way with 14 points apiece. Freshman Wilkerson ended the night with 13 points while KJ Stastny posted 11 points and three assists.

Another Pioneer that had a significant impact on the game was Kam Daily who was a force defensively.

"Kam was an incredible impact," Jillson added. "I felt that I couldn't take her out of the game because she did such an incredible job."

Texas Woman's will host Lone Star Conference leading Angelo State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
