GAME NOTES - TWU at OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN

DENTON, Texas - The Texas Woman's University soccer team will officially open its spring 2021 season tonight, as the Pioneers travel to Oklahoma City for a Lone Star Conference matchup against Oklahoma Christian (0-1) at the Eagle Soccer Field. The match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

• SEASON OPENER - While this will be the second time the Pioneers take to the field for competition, it marks the first official contest for TWU as the Feb. 7 matchup with Louisiana Tech was formally an exhibition. The two teams played through a defensive battle with TWU falling 1-0 after Louisiana Tech scored a goal in the 43rd minute. Oklahoma Christian has played one contest - a non-conference 3-1 loss to Oklahoma Baptist back on Feb. 2. 
• FOUR IS THE MAGIC NUMBER - Today's matchup is the fourth meeting all-time between TWU and Oklahoma Christian, and the Pioneers have won each meeting thus far - scoring four goals each time. TWU won 4-0 in both 2014 and 2019, and 4-1 in 2015. 
• PRESEASON POLL - TWU was picked to finish fifth in the Spring 2021 Lone Star Conference preseason poll, while Oklahoma Christian was picked 12th.
