DALLAS, Texas (Feb. 19, 2022) – The Texas Woman's University STUNT team traveled to Dallas Baptist University this weekend to compete in their first away tournament of 2022.

TWU competed in two games on Friday, Feb. 18 and two games on Saturday, Feb. 19 in the tournament hosted by DBU.

"I am so proud of this team for striving every single game to get better," TWU head coach Jasmine Owens said.

The Pioneers kicked off the tournament with a game against the host DBU. In four quarters of action, TWU matched their previous score this season against them, 20-2. The Pioneers put an impressive two points on the board against the Patriots.

In their second game of the tournament on Friday night, TWU faced a familiar foe in the University of Texas – Tyler. The Pioneers performed great in the jumps and tumbling routines against UT-Tyler and scored a personal weekend high of seven points.

After a solid first day of action, TWU returned on Saturday at 8 a.m. for their third game of the tournament against Missouri Baptist University. The Pioneers did not seem fazed by the early hour. Against Missouri Baptist, TWU scored six points and only lost by four points.

In their final competition of the day, the Pioneers faced Texas Tech University for the second time this season. TWU was again able to put points on the board. The Pioneers have scored points in every game in their inaugural season of action.

"This weekend, we continued to put points on the board for jumps and tumbling routines in all four games, and we made our stunts and pyramids stronger," Owens said. "I love seeing these girls push themselves to improve."

On Feb. 25-26, the Pioneers will travel to Oklahoma Baptist University for their next tournament. They will play six games over the two-day tournament.
