CANYON, Texas (March 14, 2022)— After averaging 27 points in two South Central Regional Tournament games,
Sadie Moyer was named to the South Central Regional All-Tournament Team on March 14.
Moyer becomes the first TWU player to be named to the Regional All-Tournament Team in program history.
A junior from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Moyer lead not only the Pioneers, but all scorers from the Regional Tournament. Moyer scored 26 points against Metropolitan State University – Denver and 28 points against West Texas A&M University.
Not only did she lead in points, but Moyer also shot and made the most free throws in the tournament this weekend. In TWU's two games, Moyer went 22-22 from the free throw—absolute perfection. She went 12-12 in the first game and 10-10 in the Pioneers semifinal loss to WT. The 12 free throws against MSU-Denver were the most free throws made of the entire tournament.
Against WT, Moyer also went 100% from the 3-point line, going 2-for-2 in the game.
Moyer led the Pioneers on a historical run, after beating MSU-Denver to record TWU's first NCAA Tournament win in program history.
In historical fashion, Moyer capped off an amazing season by breaking the TWU season free throw percentage record. With an 88.7% percentage from the charity stripe, Moyer broke the former record of 87.5% set by Chelsea Cook in 2006-07.
With a career high 410 points on the season, Moyer has scored a combined 703 points in her three seasons with the Pioneers, which currently puts her in 24th on the TWU All-Time Points list.
On Monday, March 14, WT won the South Central Regional Championship, defeating Lubbock Christian 59-54. Following their win, the All-Tournament Team was announced.
On the five player All-Tournament Team, Moyer was the only player not a member of LCU or WT to be named to the team.
