DENTON, Texas (Oct. 10, 2023) – The Texas Woman's soccer team is ready to take on Dallas Baptist tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Soccer Park.

The Pioneers are half way through their Lone Star Conference games, and they have had a stellar performance and broken some records so far this season, but a win against DBU will allow them to cruise through the rest of it with great confidence.

TWU is coming off a scoreless tie against St. Mary's on Saturday afternoon that put an end to a four-game winning streak - a match where the TWU defensive back line showed to be unbreakable once again. BDU defeated West Texas A&M 2-0 that same day with two goals from the junior Sophia Schrock.

AT THE HALFWAY MARK FOR THE PIONEERS

At the moment, TWU (9-1-2, 4-1-1) continues to lead the LSC conference. DBU (6-0-2, 3-0-1) is not far behind in the third position, as the only team in the LSC that has not lost a conference game yet. Unlike the Pioneers who played six games so far, DBU has only played four conference games this season.

The Pioneers and the Patriots are both teams with great defensive stats. The Pioneers have only allowed two goals in 12 games this season, meanwhile, the Patriots have allowed four in eight games. With those numbers, TWU sits second in the NCAA Division II goals against average stats. The Pioneers have not conceded a goal in five matches.

A LOOK BACK

The last time TWU defeated DBU was back in 2016 with a 1-0 win in Dallas, Texas. In 2022, The Patriots took the three points in their home field with a 2-0 result. Annie Severide scored both of the Patriot's goals.

Since then, TWU strengthened their roster and now counts with a phenomenal goalkeeper, Amanda Farris, and a outstanding group of freshmen on both the attacking and defensive lines. The Pioneers are hungry to defend Pioneer Soccer Park and record a win against DBU.
