DENTON, Texas (Oct. 14, 2023) - The Texas Woman's soccer team kicks off their last road-trip of the regular season with a trip to Odessa, Texas. The Pioneers are set to face UT Permian Basin on Saturday, Oct. 15 at noon.

Tomorrow's match between the Pioneers and the Falcons is the only conference game happening on Sunday, and TWU look to retake the top spot of the conference standings.

TWU (9-1-3, 4-1-2), who currently sits second in the Lone Star Conference standings, will be taking on UTPB (3-3-4, 1-1-3), number nine in the LSC. The Falcons are the only team in the LSC that have only won one game this season.

Both teams recorded 1-1 ties against their opponents last Wednesday night. Maria Tarrao scored the equalizer goal for UTPB against Angelo State. TWU tied their last LSC match against Dallas Baptist with a first career goal from Hale Avery.

READY FOR THE FALCONS

The Pioneers and the Falcons have faced each other nine times total. TWU owns the overall record 7-2. Only in 2016 and 2022, UTPB got the three points against the Pioneers. TWU has defeated the Falcons in their home field all five times that they have traveled to Odessa, Texas.

The Pioneers are looking forward to getting the job done against UTPB and record another win against them. After tomorrow's match, the Pioneers will have a deserved five days break before their next match against West Texas A&M.

#PIONEERPROUD

Despite the tie against DUB, the Pioneers are still second in the LSC with five conference matches left this season.

Amanda Farris and the defensive back line have only allowed three goals in 13 games, which makes TWU the third team with the best goals against average in the NCAA Division II. They also top that same board among all LSC teams.
