DENTON, Texas (Oct. 5, 2023) – The Texas Woman's University Athletic Department announced Jarrett Blankenship as the Associate Head Athletic Trainer.
"We are so pleased to welcome Jarrett to our sports medicine staff. His drive and passion for college athletics is an excellent addition to continue to enhance the quality of care we provide our student-athletes," said Jessica Newman, Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine.
Blankenship will begin the year with covering soccer season and also be responsible for stunt and softball as well.
Prior to TWU, Blankenship served as the head athletic trainer at Ranger College for two 1/2 years and spent one season working as head athletic trainer for the Pulaski River Turtles in Pulaski, Va., which is in the Minor League Baseball Appalachian League. He also was a Baylor, Scott & White, PRN Athletic Trainer for two years.
Blankenship earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Wesleyan University in 2020, where he received the Hester Endowed Scholarship for Athletic Training Excellence. He is currently working on his Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness degree at Grand Canyon University.
Outside of athletic training and providing health services for TWU student-athletes, Blankenship plays ice hockey.
"I am really thankful for the opportunity and it has been phenomenal so far," Blankenship said.
