DENTON, Texas (May 22, 2024) – The Texas Woman's Pioneers remain committed to pursuing excellence in all they do – in competition, in the classroom and in community service.
During the 2023-24 academic year, TWU remained committed to serving others and eclipsed over 2,600 hours served, as reported by
Helper Helper.
Guided by the efforts of the TWU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the Pioneers closed the academic year ranked fourth in community service hours among all Division II institutions, placing just behind Georgia Southwestern State, Arkansas Tech and Coker. From the Lone Star Conference, the Pioneers were joined by Midwestern State on the Top 25 number of hours served among Division II schools.
Additionally, in individual sport rankings, the Pioneers' soccer team ranked in the Top 10 of all Division II women soccer programs, coming in at No. 8 for number of hours served.
"We are so proud of our student-athletes for earning fourth place in Division II, said TWU Associate Athletic Director and SAAC Advisor Madison Seaver. "They served over 2,600 hours in the 2023-24 academic year, making a significant impact on campus and in our community. A very special thank you to SAAC for organizing many of the community service opportunities for our athletic department."
During the year, TWU served in various capacities, including Civic and Community, Children and Youth, Environment, Education, Human Services, Health, Arts and Culture, Animals, Public Safety and Faith-based Service and impacted over 100 different organizations.

Laurel Jones. "I'm honored to have led us to placing fourth in Division II for community service hours. Every athlete worked so hard, and we are so grateful to give back to our school and community. Across Division II, 151,588 hours were served and logged in Helper Helper with 3,329 different service opportunities. There were 572,266 hours served by all three NCAA Divisions, which made a $18.2 million economic impact.
