TWU ANNOUNCES HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2026

DENTON, Texas (Oct. 16, 2025) – On Thursday, the Texas Woman's Athletic Department announced their Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

The induction ceremony for the Class of 2026 will be held on the evening of Feb. 7, 2026 on the campus of Texas Woman's University.

TWU will induct five Pioneers into this esteemed class, honoring their achievements while at TWU and the impact they have had beyond their sports.

The Class of 2026 is listed below:

Judy Southard: Southard served as the TWU Director of Athletics from 1992-01. During her time with the Pioneers, she oversaw the institution of the Athletics Hall of Fame, and she brought back softball to the athletic department at TWU. She was also instrumental in laying the groundwork for the start of soccer at TWU, which began its inaugural season in 2002. A champion for student success and athletic excellence, Southard had an impactful career as a leader at TWU.

Sarah Steinmetz: Steinmetz played volleyball at TWU from 1993-96. As a setter, she led the team in assists all four years. Additionally, she holds the program records for most assists in a match and most career assists. She was an AVCA All-Region honoree three years in a row and an All-Lone Star Conference honoree four years in a row. In 1996, she was named the LSC Preseason Player of the Year and the LSC Most Valuable Player. Steinmetz was also committed to success in the classroom, earning numerous awards for her academic excellence.

Luci Romberg: Romberg was a dual sport athlete while at TWU from 2000-03, playing soccer and competing in gymnastics for the Pioneers. As a gymnast, she claimed the USA Gymnastics Individual All-Around Title in 2003. Additionally, she was a USAG All-American on all-around and vault in 2000, all-around, vault, and uneven bars in 2001, floor in 2002 and all-around, vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor in 2003. In 2002 and 2003, she was a NCAA Regional Qualifier, qualifying in all-around and vault. She helped lead the Pioneers to USA Gymnastics National Championship Titles in 2000 and 2003. In soccer, Romberg played for the Pioneers in their inaugural season beginning in 2002. She led the Pioneers in goals in 2003 and assists in 2002 and 2003. She was honored as an All-LSC awardee in 2002 and as a member of the LSC All-Academic Team in 2002 and 2003.

Jessica Hanna: Hanna played basketball for the Pioneers from 2007-12. During the 2011 season, she helped lead the Pioneers to their first LSC Tournament Title in program history. Hanna ranks fourth in TWU history in points, eighth in rebounds, 10th in assists, 10th in blocks and first in steals. During her time as a Pioneer, she led TWU in single season points from 2009-10 and 2011-12, in rebounds from 2011-12, in blocks from 2009-10 and 2011-12, in steals from 2008-11 and in free throw percentage from 2011-12. She is a four-time All-LSC honoree and a 2010-11 member of the LSC All-Tournament Team.  

Bailey Vrazel: Vrazel played for the softball team from 2011-14. In 2014, Vrazel was named an NCAA Woman of the Year finalist. Most recently, in 2023, she was inducted into the LSC Hall of Honor. During her time as a Pioneer, Vrazel helped lead the Pioneers to a LSC Championship Title and a Regional Title in 2013, giving the Pioneers an appearance in the NCAA Division II Championship. The Pioneers also received a Regional Bid in 2014. She was named the 2011 LSC Player of the Year, LSC Freshman of the Year and South Central Region Player of the Year. Vrazel was a four-time All-America selection, a four-time First Team All-LSC selection, a two-time recipient of the NCAA Division II Golden Shoe Award and a three-time NFCA and Daktronics All-South Central Region selection. Vrazel was not only a champion on the field, but in the classroom as well. She was a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection, a two-time LSC Academic Player of the Year, and a two-time LSC Fred Jacoby Female Academic Athlete of the Year. In 2013, Vrazel received the NCAA Elite 89 Award. Then, in her senior year, Vrazel was named the 2014 CoSIDA Academic All-America Team Member of the Year. She holds the TWU single-season record for at-bats, runs scored, hits, walks, games played, games started and stolen bases, the TWU career records for at-bats, runs scored, hits, walks, on-base percentage and stolen bases, the LSC single-season record in at-bats, the LSC single-season and career record in hits and the LSC single-season and career record for stolen bases. Currently, she remains the only TWU player to hit an inside the park grand slam.

TWU will be releasing more information on the Hall of Fame and the Class of 2026 ahead of February. We look forward to welcoming these legendary Pioneers back to TWU.
