AUSTIN, Texas (Feb. 6, 2025) – After a four-game home stand, the Texas Woman's basketball team goes on the road to meet St. Edward's on Thursday night.
TWU (21-1, 14-1) will meet SEU (10-13, 6-8) for the second time this season. In the first meeting, TWU claimed the win in Denton, Texas, 59-50.
Last week, the Pioneers met Oklahoma Christian and Cameron in Kitty Magee Arena. On Thursday, Jan. 30, the Pioneers defeated OC, 82-39. Then, they responded on Saturday, Feb. 1 by claimed the 52-point win over Cameron, 90-38.
The Hilltoppers traveled last week. They faced Texas A&M – Kingsville and Texas A&M International on the road. Against TAMUK, they fell by nine points, 59-50. Then, they claimed the win against TAMIU, 60-43.

VISIT TO THE HILLTOPPERS
- LAST MEETING: The two teams last met on Jan. 11 in KMA. The Pioneers claimed the win by nine points. In the win, TWU held SEU scoreless for the opening quarter, as they did not score their first basket of the game until 12 minutes into the contest. Scout Huffman led the Pioneers with 22 points, and Ashley Ingram added 18 points in the win. Ingram also grabbed a career high 17 rebounds. The Pioneers shot 47.6% from the field and scored 30 points in the paint. TWU also forced the Hilltoppers to turn the ball over 18 times for 20 TWU points.
- DEFENSE: The Pioneers have currently held their opponents to scoring 55 or less points in the past 14 games. They currently rank first in the LSC in defense, holding their opponents to 50.3 points per game, which ranks fifth in NCAA Division II. The Pioneers are also defeating teams by a margin of 15.3 points per game, which ranks first in the LSC and 10th in NCAA Division II.
- STRONG FROM THE FIELD: The Pioneers are shooting 45.4% from the field, which ranks first in the LSC and 15th in Division II. Scout Huffman currently leads TWU and the LSC, averaging 60% from the field on the season.
