DENTON, Texas (March 13, 2025) – The Big Dance begins tomorrow night for the Texas Woman's basketball team.
No. 1 TWU (31-1, 21-1) will meet the No. 8 seed Adams State (19-11, 14-6) in Kitty Magee Arena in the opening round of the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament.
The Pioneers will tip-off with the Grizzlies at 5 p.m. in KMA. It will mark a rematch of the 2024 Regional Semifinals, in which the Pioneers claimed the win, 74-63.
TWU will play in the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in program history, fourth straight time and second time at home.

- A LOOK AT LAST YEAR: Adams State and TWU met in the second round of the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament last season. The Pioneers claimed the win, 74-63. In the win, the Pioneers opened the first quarter with 28 points to start the game off strong. Ashley Ingram led the way with 17 points. Leila Patel finished with 16 points, and Gionna Carr recorded 10 points. TWU shot 47.5% from the field and finished with 20 bench points. They held the Grizzlies to 26.1% from the three point line and just three second chance points. TWU won the rebound battle 38-30. Additionally, the Pioneers shared the wealth with 18 assists. Each team committed 14 turnovers in the game. TWU held the Grizzlies' bench to just eight points.
- LAST GAME LOOK: The Pioneers are coming off an exhilarating overtime victory over Lubbock Christian to win the 2025 Lone Star Conference Tournament Title. Ingram led the Pioneers with 28 points, and Scout Huffman added 21 points in the win. TWU shot 45.9% from the field and scored 38 points in the paint. On the other side, Adams State fell in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship Quarterfinals to University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, 63-60. Kiiyani Anitielu led the Grizzlies with 20 points. Adams State was held to 29% from the field and 21.1% from beyond the arc.
- TOP STATS: The Pioneers currently rank fifth in defense in Division II, holding teams to an average of 51.4 points per game. They also rank 10th in field goal percentage defense, holding teams to an average of 34.8% from the field. On offense, TWU shoots 44.7% from the field, which ranks 18th in Division II. Adams State currently averages 71 points per game. They shoot 39.4% from the field and 30.6% from the three point line. On average, they get outrebounded by 7.1 rebounds per game.
