EDMOND, Okla. (March 22, 2025) – The Texas Woman's University softball team faced a challenging doubleheader Friday evening against Oklahoma Christian at Tom Heath Field and Softball Complex. TWU (14-14, 10-12) battled hard but ultimately fell in both games to the Eagles (21-11, 14-8), who capitalized on timely hitting and strong pitching to secure victories.
In the opening game, TWU struggled offensively as Oklahoma Christian took control with a combination of clutch hits and defensive precision. Despite a strong defensive performance by first baseman Malarie Medina and pitcher Allison Gonzalez, the Pioneers couldn't break through, losing 2-0.
The second game saw a more energetic offensive effort from TWU, highlighted by a clutch RBI double from left fielder Vivica Hernandez in the fourth inning. However, Oklahoma Christian's hitting and effective pitching proved too much to overcome as the Eagles claimed a 6-1 victory to complete the sweep.
