Box Score 2 LAWTON, Okla. (March 24, 2025) – The Texas Woman's University softball team closed out its trip to Oklahoma on Sunday with a doubleheader against Cameron University. TWU (15-15, 11-13) snapped a six-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory in Game two, splitting the series against CU (16-16, 9-13).
Cameron took an early 1-0 lead in Game one before an RBI single from Vivica Hernandez tied the game in the top of the third. Despite aggressive baserunning and multiple stolen bases, TWU was unable to capitalize, and the Aggies secured a 2-1 walk-off win with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
The Pioneers responded in Game two, overcoming a 2-0 deficit with five unanswered runs, fueled by a pair of RBIs. TWU held on for a 5-4 win to split the series.

Riley Todd put TWU on the board in the second inning, cutting the Aggies' early 2-0 lead in half.

The Pioneers took control in the fifth, scoring four runs. Madison Reid and Hawwa Townsend combined to put TWU ahead, while Hernandez extended the lead with an RBI single that drove in Marissa Espinoza.

Hernandez later came around to score on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to Todd, giving TWU a 5-2 cushion.

Next Up
The Pioneers head south next for matchups against St. Edward's and St. Mary's this weekend. TWU faces the Hilltoppers on Friday, March 28, at noon and 2 p.m., followed by a Sunday doubleheader against the Rattlers at 1 and 3 p.m.
