DENTON, Texas (May 26, 2025) - Three Pioneers from the Texas Woman's softball team, Marissa Espinoza, Madison Lux and Trinity Perry, were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team.
College Sports Communicators recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for excellence both on the field and in the classroom. The Academic All-America program honors student-athletes across NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
Espinoza, a junior from Keller majoring in business finance, earned her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District selection after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA for the second straight year. She started all 56 games this season at second base and in the leadoff spot, leading the Pioneers in batting average (.378), hits (72), home runs (10) and stolen bases (25). Espinoza also earned Lone Star Conference first-team all-conference honors.
Lux, a junior infielder from Temple majoring in criminal justice, finished the academic year with a 3.8 GPA. She started all 56 games in 2026 and recorded 39 hits, 21 runs, 28 RBIs, seven doubles and five home runs.
Perry, a sophomore catcher from Pearland majoring in kinesiology, also posted a perfect 4.0 GPA. She started all 56 games behind the plate and earned selection to the Lone Star Conference Golden Glove Team after ranking among the conference leaders in fielding percentage (.997), putouts (295) and runners caught stealing (15). Perry also totaled 24 assists and committed just one error in 56 starts.
The honor marks the first CSC Academic All-District selection for Lux and Perry.
