RICHARDSON, Texas (Sept. 16, 2025) – After a 4-0 week for Texas Woman's volleyball, junior libero Alyssa Rojo was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Rojo, a transfer from Navarro College, earns her first LSC Player of the Week honor, after being an integral part of the Pioneers' success at the Denton Volleyfest this past weekend.

"We are very proud of Alyssa for this accomplishment," said TWU Head Coach Jessica Ransom. "She is settling into her role in our program and is building confidence week after week."

As TWU's starting libero, she recorded 67 digs on the weekend, averaging 6.09 digs per set. Across 53 reception attempts, she only committed one error for a .981 reception percentage. Additionally, she dished out nine assists and recorded five total aces. Rojo anchored the Pioneers' defense that held teams to hitting a combined .069. Rojo also helped hold their opponents to just 13 aces on the weekend, while TWU had 35.

Over the weekend, Rojo and the Pioneers recorded four straight wins and four straight sweeps.

They head on the road tonight to face No. 2 Central Oklahoma.
