KEY MOMENTS
- In set one, the Pioneers took a three-point led, 9-7, after back-to-back kills by the Pioneers. After TAMUK tied it up at 11, TWU responded with five straight points to go up 16-11, as the run was ignited by a kill from Stockman. TWU would maintain the lead until the Javelinas tied it up at 21, following a 3-0 run. The score would then be tied at 22 and 23. TAMUK took a slight lead, 24-23, but TWU quickly tied it up at 24, before finding their first set point opportunity off an ace by Sydney Garrison, 25-24. - TWU struggled to string together runs early in the second set. After trailing 10-7, the Pioneers scored three straight to tie the score at 10, following a kill by Stockman. TAMUK would quickly reclaim the lead and would keep it throughout the remainder of the set. The Javelinas would win set two, 25-20.
- To start set three, TAMUK opened by scoring five unanswered points to go ahead, 6-2. The Pioneers did a good job of limiting the runs of the Javelinas after that, before building one of their own after a kill by Stockman ignited a 5-0 run for TWU to give them the lead, 14-12. Following a block by Benedite Anuman and Trinity Blackwood to put TWU ahead 18-14, the Pioneers gave up six straight points to the Javelinas, allowing TAMUK to take the lead 20-18.
