DENTON, Texas (Jan. 14, 2026) – In the first week of competition, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team celebrated a Midwest Independent Conference Weekly Award winner.
Senior
Brooke Ferrari earned the Co-MIC Performance of the Week honor for the first round of weekly awards.
"What an incredible way to kick off her senior season," said TWU Head Coach
Lisa Bowerman. "Brooke has worked so hard this summer and fall to continue to perfect every little detail of her routine and to see that hard work pay off in this first meet was incredibly rewarding! What is even more exciting is to know that she still is capable of more!"
In the first meet of the season against Pitt, Ferrari led the Pioneers on the uneven bars with a 9.900 to claim the event title. This marks the third 9.900 or higher of Ferrari's career. Her 9.900 on bars helped lead the Pioneers to a 49.075 on bars and a 195.575 overall – to mark a new program record for highest team score in a season opener and home opener.
TWU currently ranks No. 25 in the nation, as they look ahead to their Friday night meet against Denver and Arizona.
