TWU REMAINS AT NO. 3 IN WBCA NATIONAL POLL

DENTON, Texas (Jan. 20, 2026) – The Texas Woman's basketball team continued to build upon their winning streak this past week with two wins over Lone Star Conference opponents on the road.

After celebrating those two victories, the Pioneers remain ranked No. 3 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Poll. 
 
TWU is currently on an 14-game win streak. They are 9-0 in the LSC and 9-0 on the road.

The Pioneers rank third in scoring in the LSC, averaging 73.1 points per game. They rank second in defense, holding opponents to 56 points per game. On average, the Pioneers are defeating their opponents by 17.1 points, which ranks second in the LSC. TWU leads the LSC in team field goal percentage with a 46.6% from the field – a mark which ranks 10th in NCAA Division II. The Pioneers also rank second in free throw percentage, shooting 75.9% from the charity stripe. They rank second in team three point field goal percentage, averaging 35.5% from beyond the arc. They also rank third in assist-to-turnover ratio at 0.98 per game. 

From the LSC, West Texas A&M (17-1) moved up one spot to No. 6, and Lubbock Christian (15-3) fell to No. 15 after losing to West Texas A&M. Fellow South Central Region opponent, Colorado Mesa (18-1) held steady at No. 9 in this week's poll. 

Grand Valley State (15-0) remained at No. 1, and Minnesota State Mankato (18-0) held steady at No. 2.
