PORTALES, N.M. (Oct. 1, 2026) - The Texas Woman's soccer team bounced back from its first loss of the season, defeating Eastern New Mexico 4-0 at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium to improve to 10-1 overall and 6-1 in Lone Star Conference play. The four-goal performance marked the third time this season the Pioneers have scored four goals in a match, while their 11 points were the most they have recorded in a game this season.
TWU (10-1, 6-1) controlled the match from the opening whistle, outshooting Eastern New Mexico (1-7-1, 0-5) 19-1 and putting 13 shots on goal compared to none for the Greyhounds. The Pioneers also earned nine corner kicks while allowing just two.
Freshman midfielder Lauren Wade provided the offensive spark for TWU, scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes to record the second multi-goal match by a Pioneer this season. Wade joins Jaida Arizmendi, who scored twice against Sul Ross State earlier this season, as the only TWU players to record multiple goals in a game this season.
The Pioneers added to their advantage in the 62nd minute when Ailyn Oliveros finished a pass from Wade to make it 3-0. Gutierrez capped the scoring in the 85th minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from Halee Avery.
The Pioneer defense turned in another dominant performance, limiting Eastern New Mexico to just one shot and none on goal. Faith Graves and Avery Seitz combined for the shutout.
