DENTON, Texas (Sep. 2, 2026) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team returns to Kitty Magee Arena this weekend for the Marriott Inn & Suites Corinth - Denton Volleyfest, where the Pioneers will face Southern Nazarene, Central Oklahoma, Southern Arkansas and Stanislaus State.
TWU (0-4) opens the weekend against Southern Nazarene (5-0) on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m., followed by a Friday afternoon matchup against Central Oklahoma (3-2) at 3 p.m.
The Pioneers will close out the tournament with a pair of matches Saturday, taking on Southern Arkansas (1-3) at 11:30 a.m. before facing Stanislaus State (2-1) at 5:30 p.m.
Through four matches, TWU has recorded 189 kills and 178 assists while averaging 11.8 kills and 11.1 assists per set.
The Pioneers have also totaled 311 digs and 41.0 blocks, averaging 19.4 digs and 2.6 blocks per set. From the service line, TWU has collected 17 aces.
Mary Grace King leads the Pioneers with 54 kills and 61.5 points, averaging 3.38 kills and 3.84 points per set.
Gracie Erichsen has added 49 kills and 52.0 points while hitting .270 and averaging 3.06 kills per set.
Defensively,
Alyssa Rojo leads TWU with 86 digs, averaging 5.38 per set. She also owns a .896 reception percentage.
Lorena Gomez has contributed 51 digs and owns a perfect 1.000 reception percentage through four matches.
As a team, the Pioneers have recorded 311 digs and 41.0 blocks. TWU is averaging 19.4 digs and 2.6 blocks per set.
With four matches on the schedule, the Pioneers will look to build momentum throughout the weekend while continuing to develop consistency on both sides of the net.
PIONEERS AT HOME
- All four matches will be played inside Kitty Magee Arena.
- Thursday's match against Southern Nazarene will begin at 6 p.m.
- Friday's match against Central Oklahoma is scheduled for 3 p.m.

FOUR MATCHES, FOUR CHALLENGES
- A LOOK AT THE CRIMSON STORM: Southern Nazarene (5-0) opens the weekend as TWU's first opponent, with the Crimson Storm bringing an undefeated record into Kitty Magee Arena. SNU has been one of the more efficient offensive teams in the field, recording 255 kills while hitting .299 through five matches. The Crimson Storm average 15.0 kills and 13.8 assists per set and have produced 41 service aces, averaging 2.4 per set. Defensively, SNU has totaled 311 digs and 21.0 blocks.
- A LOOK AT THE BRONCHOS: Central Oklahoma (3-2) will meet the Pioneers Friday afternoon in another early test. The Bronchos have recorded 242 kills and 222 assists while averaging 13.4 kills and 12.3 assists per set. UCO is hitting .187 and has collected 34 aces, averaging 1.9 per set. The Bronchos have also been strong defensively, recording 378 digs and 31.0 blocks through five matches.
- A LOOK AT THE MULERIDERS: Southern Arkansas (1-3) awaits TWU Saturday morning in the Pioneers third match of the weekend. The Muleriders have totaled 185 kills and 172 assists while averaging 13.2 kills and 12.3 assists per set. Southern Arkansas is hitting .181 and has recorded 18 service aces. Defensively, the Muleriders have collected 248 digs and 23.0 blocks.
- A LOOK AT THE WARRIORS: TWU closes the weekend against Stanislaus State (2-1) at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The Warriors have recorded 128 kills and 120 assists while hitting .213 through three matches. Stanislaus State averages 11.6 kills and 10.9 assists per set and has collected 15 aces. The Warriors have totaled 148 digs and 21.0 blocks, averaging 1.9 blocks per set.
