DENTON, Texas (Sept. 29, 2026) - The Texas Woman's soccer returns to Lone Star Conference play this week with a road match at Eastern New Mexico on Wednesday before hosting UT Tyler on Saturday at Pioneer Soccer Park.
The Pioneers, 9-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play, will face Eastern New Mexico at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium in Portales, New Mexico. TWU returns home Saturday to host UT Tyler at 6 p.m. as part of Alumni Night and Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Out.
Through 10 matches, TWU has scored 21 goals while allowing two. The Pioneers are averaging 18.3 shots per game and have limited opponents to 5.4 shots per game. TWU has put 95 of their 183 shots on goal for a 51.9% shots-on-goal percentage and has recorded 17 assists.
The Pioneers have recorded eight shutouts and have allowed an average of 0.20 goals per match. TWU has outshot its opponents 183-54 this season.

A LOOK AT EASTERN NEW MEXICO: Eastern New Mexico enters Wednesday's match with a 1-6-1 overall record. The Greyhounds earned a 2-1 victory over Western Colorado on Aug. 29 but most recently fell 7-0 to DBU on Sept. 25. Through eight statistical matches, Eastern New Mexico has scored three goals and recorded three assists while allowing 32 goals. The Greyhounds have taken 56 shots, including 32 shots on goal.

A LOOK AT UT TYLER: UT Tyler enters Saturday's matchup with a 4-2-1 overall record after defeating Lubbock Christian 3-1 on Sept. 26. The Patriots recorded a season-high 24 shots in the victory while limiting Lubbock Christian to 10. Through seven matches, UT Tyler has scored 20 goals and allowed seven. The Patriots are averaging 19.1 shots per game and have recorded 64 shots on goal and 16 assists. UT Tyler will host St. Edward's on Wednesday before traveling to Denton for Saturday's matchup. The Patriots won the most recent meeting between the teams, defeating TWU 2-0 in Tyler on Oct. 4, 2025.

AÂ LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU's defense has been a staple of the team's success this season. The Pioneers have allowed just two goals through 10 matches, with one coming against Hawai'i Pacific and the other against No. 21 Midwestern State. Most recently, the Pioneers fell 1-0 at No. 21 Midwestern State on Sept. 27, snapping a nine-game winning streak. Despite the loss, TWU outshot the Mustangs 12-7 and has outshot opponents 183-54 through 10 matches. Overall, the Pioneers have scored 21 goals and recorded 17 assists while putting 95 of their 183 shots on goal for a 51.9 percent shots-on-goal rate. Last week,, Sophomore midfielder Jaida Arizmendi was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, earning the honor for the first time in her career.
TWU will visit Eastern New Mexico at 7 p.m. at Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium on Wednesday. On Oct. 3, the Pioneers will host the Patriots from UT Tyler at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Soccer Park as part of Alumni Night and Breast Cancer Awareness.
