DENTON, Texas (Feb. 5) – The TWU softball team will open its 2015 season in the Grand Canyon State at the NFCA Division II Lead-Off Classic on Feb. 6-8.  The tournament will be played at Lincoln Park in Tucson, AZ.  The Pioneers will face #13 Missouri-St. Louis in the opener on Friday, Feb. 6 at 10:00 a.m. (CST).    TWU will also play Regis at 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday and Colorado Mesa at 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, Feb. 7 before moving on to bracket play for three more games.
 
A total of 18 teams will travel to Tucson for the three-day tournament.  The teams are divided into six pools and will play a round robin schedule on Friday and Saturday.  After the pool play the teams are seeded 1-18 and the top-eight teams will play in the Gold Championship Bracket while 9-16 will play in the Silver Championship Bracket.  The No. 17 and 18 seeded teams will play a three-game series against each other.
